C. ‘Sympathizers!’, I Mean Who Uses That Word? Uganda Does In It’s Anti-Gay Bill, I Guess!

Okay, so one of Uganda’s first term lawmakers, David Bahati, uses the word… but come on, please tell me when you’ve heard that word used in a sentence, was it ever for good things?  David Bahati wrote, “a bill designed to eradicate homosexuality...”!  I just sounds wrong!  Even for someone who usually finds themselves on the disagreeing side of gay issues, you have to admit that this sounds… WOW I have no words!  Listen to the podcast and form your words, cause I have none, except to say that it sounds like we just stepped back in the 40’s or 50’s.  This has the potential to be like Rwanda all over again!  They are even talking about extradicting possible Gay Ugandans abroad to prosecute them for violating this bill (potential law, if it passes).  They’ve even scared people who disagree into silence, by using the word, ‘sympathizers’!

"This is a defining bill for our country, for our generation. You are either anti-homosexual or you're for homosexuals, because there's no middle point. Anybody who does not believe that homosexuality is a crime is a sympathizer," Bahati says.

  1. I’d need to check with you here. Which isn’t one thing I often do! I take pleasure in reading a post that may make folks think. Additionally, thanks for allowing me to remark!
